talonkid93 my 1g talon
Hey my name is adam and im 18. I have a 1st gen talon tsi awd. Right now i have a 7bolt motor with nothing really done to it because its not really worth it with the amount of miles it has on it. This summer im buying a 6bolt and then ill start getting to work on that. I do have a 16g turbo and a 2.5" exhaust with a stock downpipe. Nothing else really thats not stock under the hood besides the turbo, an intake, and a 2nd gen exhaust mani since its known to be stronger then the 1st gen.
Things I want to put in once I get the 6bolt...
front mount - not sure what kind yet
3" turboback
metal headgasket
ARP headstuds
Greddy type S BOV
AEM Uego wideband
Have Turbo rebuilt

We never really need a reason to have a meet. If you feel like doing something just post something up.

Re: talonkid93 my 1g talon
Ill post something up about getting a meet together once I get the talon running working on it today so ill post up the results of my work. Im hoping that I can get most of the spark plug pieces out of the cylinder and for the pieces that dont come out i hope they dont damage anything on their way out through the exhaust.

Oh dear god why do you have spark plug pieces in your cylinder? Get one of those magnetic extention rods and put it through the spark plug hole and hope it picks up everything. You also might want to remove the turbo to avoid damaging that. Honestly though, I'd pull the head if i knew i had metal pieces other than aluminum in my cylinder. You could risk damaging the wall of the cylinder and loosing compression.

The metal threads of the spark plug like the screw or socket or whatever u wanna call it thats part of the plug didnt blow up its still intact. Only the ceramic pieces went inside the motor really. I was trying to pull the valve cover off but it didnt want to come off its stuck. Do you think i have to get a crowbar or something and carefully pry it off?

Re: talonkid93 my 1g talon
I ran into one at the junkyard that was a real PITA. I had to pry it off (VERY CAREFULLY) with my knife and a screwdriver. Get your knife in there and cut into the gasket and RTV, and GENTLY tap something (a flathead perhaps) in all around the seal until it pops loose. Be careful to not nick the head or you will have a nasty leak to deal with.
And get some hoses and fab something up that you can attach to the shop vac and vacuum out those cylinders. You can go right through the spark plug hole and get all the bits out.
