Car show in April in Long Island

Hey everyone,
Keep April 27 open, I'm having a car show at my college. I'm running it this year, so I'm trying to get a good turn-out. It is still in talks but so far we are trying to get a couple of events going, like horsepower, sound, lights, interior, and possibly some others. Like I said it's still in talks, so not everything is set in stone, except (for the most part) the following:

Car Entry Fee: $5.00
Visitor Admission: $2.00
Time: 12:00 p.m. - Night
Judging: 2:00 p.m.

Of course this is all to help a good cause. The proceeds are going to the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) in my school, which I am part of and who is holding the event. Please, if you could do your best to try and attend, it is a reasonable price, and it is only about thirty minutes from the Throgs Neck Bridge (if you do the speed limit). If I can get enough of you guys to respond, I'll set up our own DSM category for judging, if that’s what it will take for you to come. There will be other categories of course, so no matter what vehicle you want to show off, (Car, Bike, Truck, DSM) whatever you want to bring, we'll accommodate to. If this doesn't catch your attention, perhaps some of these categories will tickle your fancy:

-Beat that Car (we have an abandoned DSM on campus we are going to
trash, if we can get clearance by the school, so all those
times that your DSM gave you a hard time, HERE'S YOUR
CHANCE TO GET EVEN without breaking your own)

-Loudest System Contest
-Light Show

This show is definitely going to happen, but like I said, all of these events and classes are going to be up in the air, until I can start getting people to commit and start paying up. There is going to be venders, events, and nice cars, what else could you ask for? Sounds good and all, but two things; What college is this? and could we not trash the DSM I can never bring myself to harm such an awsome car. Plus I need a new windshield and I'm sure other people could use a lot of the parts.

I'm game, definitely sounds great! I'll be sending you an e-mail about it. My car should be mostly done by then so I'd love to get in on the horsepower competition. Will there be an all wheel drive dyno??

Has anyone heard back from this guy? I sent him an e-mail almost a month ago to the e-mail he posted here about being in the show and I got nothing in return. Anyone?

Nope I doubt he checks his email often.

I actually just got an e-mail back from him today after sending him a PM on this site. He said he's still gathering information, getting registration cards made up, etc. He said he's been busy. Try sending a PM though if you want to get a hold of him.

Hey guys, Sorry I havn't been responding. I'm trying to get everything finalized first this way I don't tell you something and get your hopes up and then have it unapproved. Yes the car show is still on, and as of right now it is still on April, 27th, I'm just trying to see if I could have the lots switched this way we have a little more freedom, and people will let us do pretty much everything that I was hoping for (burnout, loudest car). The Car Show is being pushed back to May 4th, due to forcasted rain for the area. Well the Show is being cancelled due to rain, the forcast is supposed to be worse than last weekend, so we are calling off the show. Thank you to anyone who was planning on comming, and I'm sorry that it didn't work out. However, I am in planning of a car show for next year, around May 3rd, so keeps your schedules open, and I'll keep you up to date.
